Exchange of Experiences in MSCA Institutional Projects: Towards Stronger Brazilian Participation – 24 September 2026

Ahead of the 3rd MCAA Brazil-Europe Workshop (BREUW), MSCA-GLOPOL is organising the event “Exchange of experiences in MSCA institutional projects: towards greater and better participation from Brazil” on Thursday, 24 September 2026, from 8:30 to 12:00, at Fiocruz (Fundação Oswaldo Cruz) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Organised by MSCA-GLOPOL in cooperation with the MCAA Brazil Chapter and Fiocruz, the session will bring together MSCA alumni, institutional project managers, funding agencies representatives and other stakeholders involved in MSCA institutional cooperation with Brazil.

The event will provide a space to exchange practical experiences with MSCA Staff Exchanges, Doctoral Networks and Global Fellowships, with particular attention to proposal preparation and project management. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from organisations and researchers with first-hand experience of MSCA projects and to discuss some of the main challenges and opportunities for strengthening Brazilian participation in MSCA.

The event will take place ahead of the official opening of the 3rd BREUW, scheduled for 13:30 on the same day.

The morning is split into two blocks. The first (8:30–10:30) features alumni testimonials structured around both success factors and the obstacles institutions face, closing with an open floor session to capture additional barriers from the audience. The second (11:00–12:00), after a coffee break, is dedicated to CONFAP, which will present the practical process for applying to FAP co-funding for MSCA projects.

Take part in our survey

As part of the preparation for “Exchange of Experiences in MSCA Institutional Projects: Towards Stronger Brazilian Participation,” MSCA-GLOPOL is inviting Brazilian institutions that have already taken part in an institutional MSCA application — whether the proposal was approved, not selected, or is still under evaluation — to complete a short survey on institutional participation in Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.

Your answers will help us understand the current state of Brazilian involvement in MSCA and will feed into a mapping exercise to be presented during the event on 24 September in Rio de Janeiro. The findings will inform concrete recommendations to facilitate Brazilian participation in these actions.
