MSCA-GLOPOL Regional Flagship event in the African Union, Nairobi

As part of the promotional activities of the MSCA-GLOPOL project, a regional hybrid flagship event will take place in Nairobi, as an official side event to the Science, Technology, Research, and Innovation for Society (STRI) Week, celebrating the EU-Kenya 50 years Relations. The STRI Week is Kenya’s premier annual platform for showcasing scientific excellence, technological breakthroughs and innovative solutions that address real societal challenges. The MSCA-GLOPOL Regional Flagship event aims to support African-based institutions in increasing their participation in the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) — the European Union’s flagship programme for researcher mobility, training, and international cooperation.

Organisers & Partners: This event is jointly organised by the MSCA-GLOPOL Project, the MCAA Africa Chapter, the DG EAC (Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture), and the University of Nairobi.

Who Should Attend: The event targets universities, research institutions, project offices, and innovation stakeholders interested in international research cooperation. It is particularly relevant for African institutions seeking to engage with European research programmes and build sustainable partnerships with European partners.

Registration is compulsory

Make sure you register for the event (In situ or Online) here.

Programme Highlights

The event features two thematic sessions:

Session 1 — MSCA Doctoral Networks A deep dive into cooperation opportunities for African institutions in MSCA Doctoral Networks, including real-life case studies from Stellenbosch University (South Africa) and the University of Nairobi (Kenya, tbc).

Session 2 — International, Intersectoral & Interdisciplinary Collaboration A panel discussion exploring the full range of MSCA opportunities for regional cooperation, with a special focus on Staff Exchanges and the potential for cross-sectoral and cross-border research partnerships.

Both sessions feature presentations by MSCA experts, representatives of the European Commission, cases of successful participation from African Institutions and distinguished MCAA members from the African continent.
