MSCA-GLOPOL Policy Impact Day Summit: “Bridging Research and Global Policy”

As part of the Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) Annual Conference 2026, the MSCA-GLOPOL Policy Impact Day Summit will bring together leading voices from research, policy, and innovation to strengthen the connection between scientific excellence and global policymaking.

Taking place on 25 April 2026 in Brussels, this inaugural summit is organised within the framework of the MSCA-GLOPOL project (Global Cooperation: Policy Enhancement and Strategic Promotion). It aims to leverage the expertise of Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) alumni and stakeholders to shape evidence-based policies and foster international collaboration.

The event will convene around 100 participants, including representatives from the European Commission, policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, MCAA Chapters, Regional Liaison Officers (RLOs), and National Contact Points (NCPs). Together, they will engage in high-level discussions and collaborative exchanges to enhance the global impact of MSCA.

Why Attend?

The summit is designed to:

  • Identify policy gaps
Assess the current landscape of bilateral and bi-regional research and innovation cooperation, highlighting areas where participation does not yet reflect shared priorities.
  • Strengthen synergies
Explore alignment between MSCA and key European programmes such as the European Research Council (ERC), the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), and COST.
  • Foster dialogue
Create a platform for direct interaction between researchers, policymakers, and industry actors to address barriers such as administrative complexity and limited awareness.

What to Expect

Participants will benefit from a dynamic programme including keynote interventions, expert panels, and interactive discussions on topics such as climate action, health innovation, and artificial intelligence. The summit will also highlight pathways for strengthening cooperation across programmes and sectors, enabling more seamless and impactful research careers.

The event is open to the public and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to shaping the future of global research and innovation policy.
