On 29 April 2026, MSCA-GLOPOL will organise an interactive online event designed to bring together researchers, policymakers, and key stakeholders to reflect on and further develop the insights generated during the Marie Curie Alumni Association Annual Conference 2026 and the MSCA-GLOPOL Policy Impact Day.
Building on the theme of “Research careers beyond borders: 30 years of the MSCA,” the event will provide a dedicated space to consolidate discussions and translate them into concrete, actionable policy recommendations relevant to the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA). Participants will engage directly with peers from across sectors, contributing to a broader dialogue on strengthening international research cooperation and enhancing the impact of MSCA-funded research.
The session will take place in a highly interactive World Café format, allowing participants to rotate between thematic breakout discussions. This structure enables a dynamic exchange of ideas, where each group builds upon previous conversations, ultimately leading to more refined insights and practical recommendations. Throughout the event, discussions will focus on key areas such as translating research into real-world impact in fields like climate, health, and artificial intelligence; exploring synergies between major European programmes including the MSCA, European Research Council (ERC), Erasmus+, and European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST); and identifying concrete ways to overcome barriers in global research collaboration and participation.
The event will run from 13:00 to 15:00 CEST and will begin with a short plenary session introducing the objectives and context of the discussion. This will be followed by three interactive discussion rounds, interspersed with short breaks allowing participants to move between thematic groups. The session will conclude with a final plenary segment where facilitators will present key takeaways and outline possible next steps for policy and collaboration.
The event is open to all interested participants, including researchers, MSCA fellows and alumni, research managers, policymakers, and representatives from industry and international organisations. It offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to ongoing policy discussions and to connect with a diverse international community working at the intersection of research and innovation.
