MSCA-GLOPOL Info Days and EU–ASEAN Peer-Learning Workshop to Take Place in Manila, 12–13 February 2026

MSCA-GLOPOL Info Days, held in conjunction with the European Union–Association of Southeast Asian Nations (EU–ASEAN) Peer-Learning Workshop: Aligning Frameworks in a Changing World, will take place on 12–13 February 2026 in Manila, the Philippines. The event is organised by the MSCA-GLOPOL for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Region, in partnership with Support to Higher Education in the ASEAN Region (SCOPE-HE) and De La Salle University (DLSU).
The main objective of the event is to promote the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) and explore opportunities for collaboration between the EU and ASEAN to strengthen higher education and research capacity, with a particular focus on Doctoral Networks (DN) and Staff Exchanges (SE). The programme will highlight the impact of MSCA-funded projects in the ASEAN region through testimonials from MSCA alumni, showcasing the benefits of participation for both individuals and institutions.

The event will bring together policy makers, representatives from Ministries of Education and Labour, the ASEAN Secretariat, national qualification agencies, quality assurance bodies, accreditation councils, and academic staff from universities in the Manila region. Special attention will be given to MSCA schemes that support institutional collaboration and researcher training aligned with international standards.

Event Structure and Key Activities

The programme consists of three complementary activities designed to promote MSCA and strengthen EU–ASEAN cooperation in higher education and research.

EU–ASEAN Peer-Learning Workshop: Aligning Frameworks in a Changing World

12–13 February 2026

Organised by Support to Higher Education in the ASEAN Region (SCOPE-HE), led by the Netherlands Organisation for Internationalisation in Education (NUFFIC) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), this invitation-only workshop brings together policy makers and university representatives from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Building on the European Union–Association of Southeast Asian Nations (EU–ASEAN) Comparability Study between the ASEAN Qualifications Reference Framework (AQRF) and the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), the workshop fosters dialogue,   technical cooperation, and peer learning. MSCA-GLOPOL will present how MSCA, as the EU’s flagship programme for doctoral and postdoctoral training, supports high-quality researcher training, promotes inter-sectoral mobility, and contributes to the alignment of national qualification frameworks with international standards. The workshop is aligned with the ASEAN–EU Strategic Partnership Action Plan (2023–2027).

MSCA-GLOPOL Info Session at De La Salle University

12 February 2026

A closed, on-site session for DLSU researchers will provide practical guidance on MSCA Doctoral Networks (DN) and Staff Exchanges (SE), focusing on funding and cooperation opportunities.
