The MSCA National Info Day in Egypt was successfully held on 1 December 2025 at the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) in Cairo, bringing together members of the Egyptian research and innovation community to explore opportunities under Horizon Europe. Organised in close cooperation with ASRT, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC), and the MSCA-GLOPOL project, the onsite event attracted strong interest. The audience was predominantly from academic and research institutions, while participation from the non-academic sector also demonstrated a high level of engagement.
The four-hour Info Day aimed to raise awareness of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), with particular emphasis on the MSCA Staff Exchanges and Doctoral Networks2026 calls. Participants received a comprehensive overview of Horizon Europe and MSCA schemes, also including Postdoctoral Fellowships, COFUND, and CITIZENS. The programme combined policy insights from the European Commission with practical guidance on proposal preparation, partner search tools such as EURAXESS, and evaluation criteria, complemented by a success story from an Egyptian MSCA project partner. With a large share of attendees having no prior experience in Horizon Europe, the event served as an important capacity-building and an introductory event for newcomers to Horizon Europe, fostering cross-sectoral networking and laying the groundwork for future MSCA collaborations involving Egyptian organisations.
